Bayugan National Comprehensive High School, or BNCHS, popularly known as "compre" is a comprehensive high school in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, Philippines. It has a population of around 5,300 students, and is located on a site that has an area of 5 hectares.
The school is famous in its Research and Development program in science related topics. In the National Inventor's Week 2006,[1][2] sponsored by the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), in November 13-17. 2006, the top prize for the Outstanding Student Creative Research (or Sibol Award) for high school was won by student Anthon Mark Jay Alguno Rivas and his science teacher-coach, Gregor C. Burdeos. The Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Most Promising Invention Award and WIPO International Gold Medal Award[3] were both given to Anthon as special awards. A month before, he became the first and only high school student to become a sub-plenary speaker in the Samahang Pisika ng Visayas at Mindanao (SPVM) National Physics Conference and Workshop.[4] He was also declared the champion in the individual category of the 10th Intel Philippines Science Fair.[5]
BNCHS produced two Honourable Mentions in the First Step to Nobel Prize in Physics: Anthon Mark Jay Alguno Rivas (Fifteenth International Competition)[6] and Eloisa Mae Alguno Tereso (Seventeenth International Competition).[7] They happened to be first degree cousins.
The Bayugan National Comprehensive High School, formerly called Bayugan Municipal Comprehensive High School was conceived in 1975 but came to reality only in April 18, 1980 when Sangguniang Bayan of Bayugan through the initiative and leadership of the Municipal Mayor Vicente P. Encendencia passed a municipal resolution no. 37 creating the said school.
On June 14, 1980, the school opened the first two years of secondary curriculum with one hundred five first year and twenty six second year students and six faculty members. It was opened adjacent to burned old Bayugan Municipal Hospital.
The school has grown tremendously through the years. BNCHS is now the premiere secondary education institution in the city of Bayugan.
VISION BNCHS is envisioned to produce quality and competitive graduates both in academic and vocational aspects. MISSION Provide quality instructions and adequate facilities to produce globally competitive individuals.
Education shall develop citizens who believe in God, love of country and fellowmen and actively participate in building a just Filipino society and in conserving the nation's human and natural resources.

In Your wisdom, fashion our whole self according to Your will. Help us become more persevering and industrious so we can maintain our quest for a good education. Teach us Your ways, guide is in Your path, and cultivate in us a deep abiding faith in You so that we can do all these things as we begin our classes for this day and hereafter.
